Martin Associates completed a feasibility analysis of the development of a transshipment hub in Ireland with a focus on bulk cargoes. The transshipment hub would capitalize on the deep water draft of a port site in Ireland, with the ability to receive very large bulk ships carrying ores, fertilizers, etc. The bulk material would be off-loaded and stored as needed with future distribution on smaller feeder vessels into European ports with restricted draft as well as restricted bulk storage areas.
